Already the first edition of the 1 DM coin in gold, was heavily oversubscribed. The allocation was often on the lottery.
The advantage of the coin is that you include in spite of the limited edition coin as an investment and the price is only slightly above the gold spot is located. For the commemorative edition, in 2001, an amendment was necessary because the German Bundesbank did not originally have the right to mint coins.
The motif is similar to the known 1 DM coin originated by Joseph Bernhart.
